In a bowl put
3/4 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons golden syrup
1 and 3/4 cups white flour
3 or four heaped tablespoons cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup melted butter (melt in microwave)
1 cup milk.
Beat for 3 minutes. Pour into lined cake tin and cook at 350degrees Celcius (180F) for about 40 minutes or until cooked.
Test if cooked by gently pushing a fine knife or cake tester in the centre. If it comes out dry the cake is cooked.
